Six months ago today I sat and watched as my mom was lowered into the ground. People say it gets easier as time passes but to me I call that a lie, it only gets harder as each day passes. It’s the little things you end up missing such as the smell of her menudo on a Sunday morning. Coming downstairs watching her chug her beer & telling me to get my ass outside to clean the backyard. To hearing her voice telling me I did a good job but I missed a few spots that she could see. From her kissing my cheek and her handing me a beer and enjoying it as we sit by the pool and her lecturing me on all the good and bad stuff I did throughout the week. I miss your physical presence, your unconditional love but more importantly hearing your voice. We went through he’ll and back quite a few times & like they say there’s nothing like a mothers love. When she left a part of my life left with her. One chapter closed & another chapter opened & although your spirt is around me I just wish it was your physical presence that was her by me. You brought me into this world & till your very last breath I helped you leave it. As you carried me & welcomed me into this world I held you in my arms & watched you leave..
